Witbank at a glance

Witbank translated in English, means 'white ridge' and was named after the white sandstone outcrop where wagon riders used to rest. Giving homage to its coal-mining heritage, Witbank was renamed eMalaheni meaning 'place of coal' in 2006. Previously the transport gateway to the Mozambique Port, Witbank is located along the railway line linking Pretoria to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. 

LOCATION:
Established in the 1890's and located in Mpumalanga's highveld it progressed rapidly due to the excellent quality coal that ignited the towns industrial development. 
Witbank is located about 100 km east of Pretoria and 140 kms northeast of Johannesburg. As major investment grows in support of coal mining's related industrial developments, such as power stations and steel mills as well as the ongoing construction on the Kusile power plant, the demand for residential property in the affordable price range is growing as well.
