Vanderbijlpark at a glance

A town rich in history, vibrant culture and loads of amenities is Vanderbijlpark. Named after Hendrik van der Bijl, an electrical engineer and industrialist, Vanderbijlpark was founded in 1942 when the South African Iron and Steel Industrial Corporation had reached capacity. Alongside Vereeniging and Sasolburg, these 3 towns form the Vaal Triangle, one of South Africa's major industrial regions. Vanderbijlpark sits on the banks of the scenic Vaal River, with 57 kms of navigable waterways and is a popular haven for water sport enthusiasts.

Just an hour drive from the city of Johannesburg, Vanderbijlpark is 75 kms from OR Tambo International airport and Johannesburg Central Business District.
