Rustenburg at a glance

Rustenburg means 'place of rest' and was originally a tobacco and citrus producing community.

Location
Located at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountain Range, residents who hike up to the low ridge are treated to spectacular beauty.  About 135 kms from Pretoria and Johannesburg via the N4, you will find "Platinum City" so named because 2 of the worlds largest platinum mines are nearby.

Climate
The countryside enjoys long summers with up to 9 sunny hours a day.  Plant life, rivers and streams enjoy the generous rainfall.
Rustenberg is home to the Premier Soccer League Cub, originally built in 1999 it underwent renovations in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and enjoys a few sporting events like, rugby, soccer and athletics.

Shoppers enjoy retail therapy at either The Waterfall Mall, an upmarket regional shopping centre with more than 150 stores, or Platinum Square, where you can treat yourself to one of the restaurants surrounded by landscaped indigenous gardens while children play on the jungle gym or splash around the water fountains. Another retail option is The Square Centre.
Chi-Chi's playpark is a fun activity for children, who play on go-karts, paddle boats, in the splash pool, on any of 3 huge jungle gyms and escape to an impressive Lego land. 

Schools
Little Yuppies, Smiley Kids or Rustenburg Early Learning Centre are some pre-schools in the area. Primary schools include Laerskool Rustenburg and Mount Sera while high school learners attend Hoerskool Rustenburg or Grenville Highschool. Private Schools are Meridian, Sacred Hearts and Lebone II - College of the Royal Bafokeng
