Nelspruit at a glance

Nelspruit, or Mbombela since 2009, was founded in 1895 on the banks of the Crocodile River, by 3 Nel brothers who used to bring their cattle to graze in the winter months. It is a city in north-eastern South Africa and the capital of the Mpumalanga province. Nelspruit lies west of the Mozambique border, east of Johannesburg and north of the Swaziland border. There are 2 airports in Mpumalanga, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport is 27 kms from Nelspruit and the Nelspruit Airport is a convenient 10kms from the city.  

CLIMATE:
Nelspruit's climate is subtropical with summer months reaching temperatures of 25 degrees and winter dropping down to about 6 degrees. Nelspruit has summer rainfall. 

EDUCATION FACILITIES:
Nelspruit Primary School, Curro Castle, Lowfeld High School, St Mark's International School, Saint Peters Primary School, Laerskool Nelspruit, Laerskool Bergland, Hoerskool Nelspruit and Valencia are some of the schools in Nelspruit.
