Midrand was established around a small village called Halfway House due to its location being halfway between Johannesburg and Pretoria. 

Midrand is conveniently situated 38 kms from Lanseria airport and 22 kms from OR Tambo International airport. Midrand also offers residents commuting to and from the big cities convenient travel on the high-speed Gautrain rail system.
