Kriel at a glance

Kriel, situated on the Cultural Heartlands route between Ogies and Middelburg was proclaimed on the farms Onverwacht and Roodebloem in the early seventies, essentially to service three mines, two power stations and the farming community in the vicinity.
It was named after the first resident magistrate Mr. DJ Kriel from nearby Bethal. But the 'old town' has been in existence since the late 1800's and is 10km from the last great battle of the Boer War.
Kriel is easily reached from both the N17 and the N12 highways and is central to Delmas, Secunda, Trichardt, Kinros and Bethal.

SHOPPING:
With its own Mall you also have the options to do other shopping in either Emalahleni (Witbank), Springs or Middelburg all within an hour's drive.

SCHOOLS AND MEDICAL FACILITIES:
Schooling is achieved with three Primary schools and one High school with a well-run Hospital situated at Trichardt a mere 40 minutes away

ACTIVITIES:
This small but busy town boasts a well-played Golf Course and Squash-courts at Kriel Mine, as well as gyms in town.

RESTAURANTS:
There is a new Restaurant opening in the Kriel Mall.
The Red Velvet Coffee Shop is a quaint cosy place to enjoy a good meal and catch up with a friend. They also do great take-aways.

With a lower-than-average crime rate and affordable homes, this a brilliant little town to stay in.
