Steve’s real estate career spans more than 35 years and covers a wide variety of roles.
Having been a successful sales agent in his early years, Steve went on to build one of the most successful real estate businesses in Harcourts South Africa, having featured in the Top 10 offices every year from 2009 to date, and taking out the #1 ranking for 6 consecutive years from 2014-2019. Harcourts Platinum consistently ranks in the Top 3 offices within Harcourts South Africa, and it’s testament to the depth of a business built on values, service excellence, and cutting edge strategies for success.
Steve took up the role of CEO of Harcourts International, based in Brisbane, Australia, where he was leader of the global Harcourts group. After 4 years in the role, having felt the need to change his pace of life, Steve stepped down from his global role. He now continues to support his business partner, Jan Myburgh, in growing Harcourts Platinum to even greater success, whilst mentoring select real estate professionals in Australasia.
In July 2009 he was awarded the Nedbank Property Association Young Lion Award - in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Property Industry and acknowledgement as a future industry leader. He has played an active role in Harcourts South Africa, serving as a director on the board since 2005-2023.
Steve was inducted into the Harcourts Hall of Fame in 2015 in recognition of his contribution to the Harcourts Group and his lifetime achievements in real estate.
Now based in Queensland, Australia, his focus is “special projects” and strategic growth of the business. He works with the top performers in the business as a mentor, and on his regular visits to South Africa he works with the team to ensure they continue to deliver the finest real estate experience to their clients.
Having pioneered the Harcourts non-distressed Auction strategy in South Africa, Steve now works with Jan to leverage this exciting selling strategy. Market-leading “development and off-plan” marketing and sales services continue to differentiate Harcourts Platinum from others.
An accomplished businessperson, industry thought leader and international keynote speaker with specific interest in strategic business and team growth, Steve’s experience, not only at a local level, but also as CEO of a global real estate brand, ensures the team at Harcourts Platinum continues to deliver the very best in real estate solutions to their customers.
