Candidate Property Practitioner
Southern Cape
I was born in Cape Town and grew up in the vast and hauntingly beautiful country of Namibia. In Namibia I worked in various organisations: as the operations manager for a logistics company; an estate agent for my family’s real estate company; a marketing coordinator at a leading dairy company; and as a communications co-ordinator for a regional human rights and health rights NGO.
In South Africa I became involved with a Cape Town based environmental NGO working on promoting low tech green energy solutions for marginalised and energy poor communities around the country. A big focus of the organisation that really matched my own interest was on climate change adaptation and the awareness raising of a low carbon footprint, while encouraging the accessibility of renewable energy. I moved on to working at a Stellenbosch based sustainability education institute
During my time in Cape Town my love of desert landscapes beckoned me to explore the Klein Karoo, where I came across the rural, eclectic and friendly town of Barrydale. I fell in love with the people, town and surroundings and decided to move to this magical place.
Today I have the joy of experiencing a diverse, helpful and friendly community. In Barrydale I get involved in community upliftment. I assisted the Barrydale Hospice with their website content creation, their promotional material content and design as well as their social media. Currently I am working towards realising my passion for co-creating an ethical food system and initiated the Barrydale community food garden that is still in a development stage. I also promote awareness about wild and indigenous food and have run a number of foraging excursions and food demonstrations for over 32 wild and indigenous foods I identified in the area. I am also on the committee of Cape Nature’s People and Parks Programme for the Overberg District.
I have always had a love for property. I am service oriented, honest, methodical and go the extra mile for my clients from first point of contact through to handing over the key and beyond.
