Here you can savour fresh, organic vegetables and fruit from the beautiful, permacultured garden, crafted for sustainable living. There are two dwellings - the Original Farmhouse with 3 bedrooms (or 2 and a study) and the Guesthouse with 4 ensuite bedrooms, a peaceful 60m² Yoga Studio, a rustic Facilitators Hut, a Treatment Room, a secluded 'Music Room', a substantial Greenhouse and a Rabbit Hutch.

The Original Farmhouse: A charming home with quarry tiled floors, exposed beams with reeded ceilings, sash windows, eclectic timber doors and beautiful Indian shutters. Downstairs: The large open-plan living-room and kitchen with elevated fireplace opens to a spacious covered L-shaped balau verandah with poplar beams and panoramic mountain vistas, a pizza oven and a freestanding unit with a double sink for outdoor cooking and entertaining. There is also a 3rd bedroom or study and bath bathroom downstairs. A spiral staircase leads upstairs where there are 2 bedrooms with pine floors, both with ensuite showers bathrooms and lovely rural views. There is also an outside laundry room and staff loo.

The Swimming Pool: This has been tastefully converted from the original farm reservoir and is fibreglass lined with a pine deck and a Nomad tent-like shelter that also provides a further outside seating area.

The Guesthouse: A lovely single storey building with a high pitched chromadek roof, screeded and painted floors, reeded ceilings and big barn doors at the entrance. The verandah's balau deck overlooks a living pond and boma. There's a large open-plan living-room and kitchen with elevated fireplace and an eclectic mix of furnishings with an Eastern flavour. The bedrooms are beautiful yet simple with Moroccan style mosaic bathrooms screened by lovely detailed Indian doors. Access to the storage area in the roof space is gained by means of an outside ladder. Meals are often served in the original farmhouse which has perfect panoramic views looking out onto the mountains.

The Studio: The studio space is a quiet refuge for yoga, movement and creativity with glowing timber floors and an abundance of light. It looks out onto a zen-style garden with running water and secluded corners for quiet reflection.

The Garden: The garden demonstrates the possibility of sustainable living in a relatively small space. The garden is organic and modelled on permaculture principles. Elements include natural irrigation from an underground stream, rain-water harvesting (10 large tanks), grey water usage systems, composting, vermiculture, heirloom seed propagation. A nursery and hot-house, a medicinal garden, indigenous plants, fruit trees, a deep, natural, living pond and 2 beautiful natural bomas.

The Greenhouse : This substantial glass house serves as a nursery and hot house where plants are propagated.

The Facilitator's Cottage: A secluded bedroom hut made of latte with an outside hot shower and loo. The roof can lift up in summer to allow cool breezes to waft through.

The Treatment Room: This is a separate and private timber structure with a pine deck and floors, reeded ceiling and outside shower and storeroom and overlooks the riding stables. (Approx. 37m²)

The Workshop: Is underneath the treatment room (and below the water table - so gets pumped out in winter).

The Music Room: This is a further separate little corrugated iron building down a path. It has water and could be converted to another bedroom by putting in an outside shower and loo.

The Rabbit Hutch and Compost Containers: The hutch has a family of bunnies whose droppings are added to the wonderful organic compost being created in special containers on the property.

The Drying Yard: In itself yet another charming, peaceful area, this has been screened with a latte fence around an old Wild Olive tree.

The Noordhoek Valley is without a doubt one of Cape Town's most treasured locations in the False Bay area on the Cape's Southern Peninsula. Property in Noordhoek looks out over the famous beach and vast wetlands to the pounding Atlantic rollers and the area has the added charm of a rural atmosphere and rustic surroundings. The tranquil Noordhoek village is found at the end of the famous Chapman's Peak Drive. Being a somewhat rural area, Noordhoek is also home to a number of commercial farms and smallholdings, with many local residents breeding and stabling horses. The spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed on horseback and many of the farms offer horse riding for adults and children alike. Very few suburbs on the South Peninsula have such a vibrant rural and artistic feel and Cape Town is a mere 25 minutes' drive away.
