    I started my career in the insurance industry. I always knew that people and dealing with employees and clients is my passion. I worked as a call center agent for Ipsos (2nd largest Market Research company globally) and worked myself up to being the HR and Training manager for the Durban office. After being retrenched I was given the opportunity to start as Office Manager for Harcourts Equity. It played right into my passion in dealing with people. I have since done a paralegal course in Property Law and Conveyancing and plan on further studies in the Criminal Law field.

    I have been in the industry for about 12 years having started with the inception of the business in 2004 with the then owner, Jonathan Styles and under the brand of "Homenet Musgrave" I assisted with the office management as well as in sales and rentals until we reached a point where we needed to have more structure and defined roles in the business. We expanded to such an extent that I am the Rental Manager currently and a new office manager was appointed to assist where needed. Wayne Paola, my son, is currently taking ownership of the company and is now implementing new and improved systems which we hope will create more efficiency for the staff. The office managements is in the region of 185 rentals per month where we look after all of our clients needs and requirements. I am proud to say that I our track record is brilliant and we pride ourselves on service and professionalism. If you are looking for a competent team to look after your rental property, Harcourts Equity have the correct systems in place to do what needs to be done in order to put your mind at ease.

    I was an English Teacher for five years at Durban Academy on the Bluff and at Kloof High School. I worked at night and on the weekends to assist in the foundation of what is 'Harcourts Equity' today, a brand I am proud to be associated with. I am a qualified agent having written and passed the Estate Agent affairs board exam in my second year after being an intern for a year. I have done the NQF 4 and am busy with my 3 year CPD course. I believe in the continuous professional development and improving myself as there is nothing like a refresher course to assist with empowering an individual in something that they are passionate about. I started my career in Real Estate when I joined the 'Homenet Real Estate Group' that later became 'Harcourts South Africa'. I managed the Harcourts Musgrave office for 10 years and have recently bought the office over and converted it to Harcourts Equity. I have a dynamic, energetic group of people working with me every day and it shows in the enormous amount of effort they put into their work on a daily basis even when they work on weekends when it is not expected from them. They go the extra mile. We have recently affiliated ourselves with Child Welfare and look forward to celebrating their Centenary year with them next year. I do believe in the values of the brand and try to every single day. We pride ourselves on being industry leaders and making a name for ourselves going forward. We are brand ambassadors for a company we enjoy working for and for that reason we will continue to give our best.

    I have been an Intern Estate Agent since April 2013. The Property Market was totally new industry to me as I came from the Fitness Industry (Personal trainer) and prior to that many years of office experience in varied positions. All my previous working experience has been people orientated jobs. Working as a personal trainer, massage therapist, plant controller, administrator, secretary, office manager put me in a position of having to deal with people at all levels as well as different ethic group, different ages groups on a daily basis. All of this previous experience has made my transition into the Real Estate Industry an easy one. I think my best personality trait is that I am a good listener and I learnt very quickly that being in the Real Estate Industry this is one of the most important things. Listen to both your seller and buyers requirements/ specification because at the end of the day it is them who are selling or buying not you. Because I am such a peoples person I took to dealing with clients like a duck to water. I believe in continuing education and in the last 4 years have spent many hours training, learning and refining my craft so that I can better serve you as my buyer/seller. I have completed my NQF4 am currently doing my PDE which will qualify me as Full Status Agent. Before joining the Real Estate business I was in Banking and commenced my career with Standard Bank West Street Durban. I then moved to Mercantile Lisbon Bank where I successfully completed numerous in-house training courses, ending a career of 38 years as a Sales and Service Manager in 2003, when I decided to take up the offer of an early retirement package. After a years break I decided to follow my passion for real estate which was instilled in me at an early age by my father who was always buying and selling property. I have successfully been fulfilling my passion for the past 11 years. I grew up in the Morningside area and moved away for a short period when I married, had a son and 13 years later after a divorce, moved back to Morningside, where my son was educated. My grandchildren were also educated at Durban Prep. They are now boarders at Kearney. Where they are avid sportsman concentrating on rugby and cricket. The highlight of my week is watching them play sport. My hobbies are gardening and reading. I do believe that the wealth of knowledge gained in the Banking sector together with the interpersonal skills learnt over the years has equipped me to meet the challenge and provide you with a professional level of service, which is well supported by my Business owner Wayne Paola and his team.

I have been part of Harcourts Musgrave and now Harcourts Equity for more than 7 years. I deal with admin of rentals (over 190 management rentals), procurement rentals, general office admin, maintenance and processing rental payments using the PayProp Pay System to landlords, suppliers and contractors.
